Educational
Events |
 |
|
Our chapter schedules
educational events several times a year. These events
often feature guest speakers who share their expertise
with our members. The topics vary and are of interest
to most chapter members and families. Past presentations
covered topics such as nutrition, exercise, stress
management, and information on specific bleeding
disorders. We now also offer an entire weekend event
just for families, who have children with bleeding
disorders, called Family Fun Weekend. All of our
events not only provide education, but they also
provide great networking opportunities for all of
our families and members with bleeding disorders. |

| Social
Events |
 |
|
Throughout the year,
our chapter organizes social events for our members.
We make an effort to plan a variety of events that
will appeal to the different ages and interests
of our members. Some of our past events have included
our annual dinner cruise, our annual holiday party,
a wine tasting, and football Sundays. Whether you’re
a member with a bleeding disorder, or a parent or
spouse of a member, we hope you take the opportunity
to attend our social events and we look forward
to seeing you there! |

| Fundraising
Events |
 |
|
We organize fundraising
events to support our chapter and the National Hemophilia
Foundation. Many of our fundraising events, such
as the Wine Tasting Dinner, provide a great opportunity
to socialize with other members of our chapter and
are often free to either a limited number or all
of our members. |

Research to Cure Bleeding Disorders |
 |
|
The National Hemophilia
Foundation asks all of its chapters to support research
for a cure for Hemophilia by contributing financially
to the Judith Graham Pool research fund. The Judith
Graham Pool Research Fund advances the work for
a cure by granting postdoctoral fellowships to physicians
and scientists embarking on careers in research
into bleeding disorders. You can learn more about
this research fund by visiting the National Hemophilia
Foundation’s web site at. |

 |
| Public
Awareness |
 |
| We are
constantly working on public awareness by sharing information
with the general public on bleeding disorders and their complications and
costs. Our fundraising events are one way we reach our local communities
with this information. |
